Open to middle and high school students
Session Two (July 12th - August 6th)
This course serves as a learning opportunity for students to learn an introduction to a variety of basketball and fitness skills. Students will learn different dribbling techniques, such as pound dribbling, cross-overs, and v-dribbling while at the same time incorporating some fitness exercises. Students will learn the correct form for their exercise and these exercises include squats, pushups, planks, and much more. We will also have fun with trivia, and as a class we will play a Kahoot game. For optional homework assignments, students will be able to record themselves doing their favorite exercise or drill we did in class!
1 p.m. PST on Wednesdays, 1 hour classes
Instructor for Basketball and Fitness
Katie Lin is a rising junior at Newton South High School in Massachusetts. Having played basketball since she was in 4th grade, and currently playing on her school basketball team, she has a ton of experience with not only basketball and also fitness. She has won the MIAA(Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association) Award of Excellence, and has extensive experience teaching and leading younger children, as she is a teacher assistant for 2nd graders for her Chinese school. Katie is excited to share her passion and knowledge of basketball and fitness to the students in the class!
